A theft case in Pervomaisk has been sent to court
In Pervomaisk, a man, according to investigators, at dawn entered the yard of a private house and rolled out a Spark motorcycle. He took the stolen vehicle to an acquaintance and left it there.
The incident occurred in May 2026. The motorcycle’s 41-year-old owner reported its disappearance to the police.
Investigators and officers of the Pervomaisk District Police Department, with the participation of specialists from the regional headquarters’ Criminal Analysis Department, located the vehicle within several hours. Law enforcement officers identified the man and his whereabouts. He turned out to be a 41-year-old local resident who had previously been prosecuted for property crimes.
According to the investigation, he told the acquaintance that the motorcycle had allegedly broken down and would not start. The man was detained in accordance with procedural law and notified of suspicion.
The suspect’s actions were qualified under part 2 of Article 289 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — unlawful seizure of a vehicle combined with entering a premises or other storage.
Investigators completed the pre-trial investigation and sent the indictment to the Pervomaisk District Prosecutor’s Office. The prosecutor’s office referred the case to court for consideration on the merits.
For the charged crime, the man faces up to 8 years imprisonment with or without confiscation of property. In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent until their guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a guilty verdict of a court.
