"Slava TCK" after a "disciplinary conversation": a video of apologies from participants in the clash in Lviv outraged the online community
The apologies were deemed insincere — and helped to record "more sincere" ones
Videos have appeared online of apologies from men who took part in a mass conflict with servicemen of the TCC and SP in Sykhiv in Lviv. In the recordings they apologize for their actions, one promises to join the Defense Forces, and another says he is an active serviceman who is on leave.
The first recording was published in the evening of 9 July 2026 by veteran Anton Petrivskyi. According to him, veterans found two men who were jumping on a TCC service vehicle and damaging it. Teenagers can also be seen in the background of the video; they apologized and promised not to do it again.
One of the men in the video said that within a month he will complete training and join the ranks of the Defense Forces. Another said that he is already a serviceman, is on leave, and will return to his unit after it ends.
Later a separate recording was published by deputy commander of the 3rd Army Corps Dmytro Kukharchuk. He wrote that he considered the previous apologies insincere, so they held a “disciplinary talk” with the participant. According to him, after that the man was handed over to law enforcement.
“This time the apologies were sincere,” — commented user Dmytro Kukharchuk.
It was the appearance and behavior of the men on the video that sparked a new wave of debate. Some users suggested the apologies may have been recorded under duress. At the same time there is no official confirmation that force was used against them. Law enforcement reported arrests of those involved in the clash, but did not comment on the circumstances under which these videos were recorded.
“Bottom of the barrel! Fucking Kadyrovites!” — user Dmitriy sharply compared the video authors to the forces of the head of Chechnya.
“What a picture they made of the guy! He stammers, swallows his words and is completely on the verge… Tears are about to flow. He barely holds them back. What are you doing? These apologies and the posts above are a complete fabrication!” — user Olyana drew attention to the condition of one of the men in the frame and expressed doubts about the voluntariness of the recording.
“Illegality breeds illegality. First the TCC beat people. Then people beat the TCC. And then other people force the first ones to apologize on video and beat them,” — stated Shots.
User Hanna Ivushkina emphasized that, in her opinion, the actions of the man in military uniform captured in the conflict video also require explanation.
“But it is not these guys who need to apologize, but that fighter in military uniform who provoked all this,” — wrote Hanna.
“Their apologies mean nothing! Why isn’t there a curfew in Lviv after 00:00? At two in the morning young people are walking around the city, probably still high?” — noted Valentyna.
The conflict itself occurred in the evening of 8 July 2026 on Chervona Kalyna Avenue in Lviv. According to the Lviv regional TCC and SP, an alert group stopped a man born in 1996 who was wanted for violating military registration. He was taken to the TCC and referred to the VLK (military medical commission).
After that about 200 civilians blocked another group of servicemen, damaged and overturned a service vehicle. The conflict lasted until approximately 02:30 on 9 July. Two servicemen sought treatment at a medical station.
A recording also circulated online showing a man in military uniform beating a civilian. The Sykhiv RTCC stated that the video was taken out of context and suggested that the soldier acted in self-defense. Final conclusions should be made by the official investigation.
Law enforcement opened criminal proceedings for impeding the lawful activities of the Armed Forces and for violence against a police officer. One of the most active participants, a 23-year-old man from Lviv, was detained after, according to the investigation, he used a gas spray and injured a law enforcement officer.
Parliament’s Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets condemned the attack on servicemen but stressed that the state must react equally to possible violations of citizens’ rights during mobilization. He urged the Ministry of Defense to review and improve mobilization procedures.
“The law must be the same for everyone. It does not matter who broke it — a citizen or a representative of the state. In every case there must be an objective investigation, and every violation must receive an appropriate legal assessment,” — emphasized Dmytro Lubinets.
