A Russian drone killed three children in the Mykolaiv region: another man died on the way to the hospital
Russians attacked a building with a shop, a post office, and a pharmacy
In the evening of 21 August 2026 Russian forces attacked with a “Shahed”-type drone the village of Tokarivka of the Veselynivka community. As a result of the strike, four people were killed, among them — three children.
The consequences of the attack were reported by the acting head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Heorhii Reshetilov, and the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office. Around 18:00 the enemy drone struck a building that housed a shop, a branch of “Nova Poshta” and a pharmacy. The explosion damaged the structure, after which a fire broke out.
At the scene, two 11-year-old boys and one 13-year-old boy were killed. A 30-year-old man also sustained severe injuries and died on the way to the hospital. Another victim — a 36-year-old woman — was wounded. She was hospitalized; medics are providing her with necessary care.
Rescuers, prosecutors and investigators are working at the strike site. Law enforcement officers are inspecting the area, documenting the damage and collecting evidence of a Russian war crime.
Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor’s office, a pre-trial investigation has been opened under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — violation of the laws and customs of war that resulted in deaths.
