A drunken ride in a "Volga" ended in a three-vehicle crash: two people were injured on the Shyrokobalskyi Bridge

In Mykolaiv on Monday, 15 June 2026, a triple road traffic accident occurred on the Shyrokobalka bridge. The vehicles involved were a GAZ 3210 “Volga”, a Tesla Model X and a Ford Focus.

According to preliminary information, the GAZ 3210 “Volga” was traveling along Bohoyavlenskyi Avenue from the Kosmonavtiv side toward Shyroka Balka.

On the Shyrokobalka overpass the Volga driver lost control of the vehicle and slammed into the Tesla Model X that was ahead. After the first collision, the Volga sharply changed direction, crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with a Ford Focus coming from the Shyroka Balka side.

As a result of the crash a female driver of the Ford Focus and her 15-year-old passenger were injured. Both injured parties were taken from the scene by ambulance. Their condition has not been reported.

Patrol police who arrived at the scene found signs of severe alcohol intoxication in the Volga driver. According to on-scene information, the man could barely stand.

The Volga driver was detained. He is expected to be taken shortly for a medical examination that will officially determine his level of intoxication.

All 3 vehicles sustained mechanical damage.

Traffic on the Shyrokobalka overpass was disrupted due to the accident.

This section is an important transport artery for residents of the Korabelnyi district and Shyroka Balka, so such accidents quickly create traffic jams and additional risks for drivers and passengers.
