In Mykolaiv, law enforcement officers located an 11-year-old girl whose disappearance had been reported by her mother. This was reported by the Mykolaiv region police.

A report that the child had left home was received by Police Department No. 1 of the Mykolaiv District Administration on the afternoon of 29 April 2026. According to the mother, her daughter had never before left home without warning and was always in touch. The personnel of the territorial police department, juvenile prevention inspectors of the district administration, and operatives of the regional police headquarters were immediately tasked with searching for the minor.

As a result of operational-search measures, with the involvement of analysts from the Criminal Analysis Department and thanks to footage from the surveillance cameras of the system “Safe City”, law enforcement officers established the child’s location. The girl was found near one of Mykolaiv’s shopping centers. It turned out that, due to a misunderstanding with her mother, the child had gone out to walk around the city on her own.

Fortunately, no unlawful actions were committed against her. Juvenile police officers held preventive talks with the girl and her parents to prevent similar incidents from recurring.

The police urged parents to maintain trusting relationships with their children, to explain to them the importance of informing others about their plans and whereabouts, not to turn off their phone and to answer calls from relatives. They also, where possible, advise using modern means of communication and geolocation.

If a child goes missing, law enforcement ask not to delay and to immediately call 102.
