After a nighttime strike on Odesa - 18 injured: apartment buildings, a hotel and cars were on fire

At night 30 April 2026 Russian forces carried out a massive strike on Odesa. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, as a result of the attack 18 people were injured.

The city’s residential sector suffered the greatest destruction. As a result of the strikes, fires broke out in apartments of 5-story and 17-story residential buildings. A private house and a nearby hotel also caught fire.

In addition to residential development, Odesa’s civilian infrastructure sustained significant damage. Fires erupted in warehouse facilities, administrative and educational buildings. In parking lots and courtyards the flames destroyed and damaged dozens of buses and passenger cars. Garages and outbuildings were also burning.

Psychologists from the State Emergency Service (SES) worked at the sites of the response to the attack. They provided assistance to 36 people, among whom were 5 children.

This is another strike on a civilian city where not military objects but residential buildings, transport, educational premises and people who were simply in their apartments at night were targeted. Russia continues its terror against Ukrainian cities, trying to leave behind not only destruction but also fear.
