The government is allocating UAH 3 billion for urgent repairs of the busiest roads by summer
Funds from the reserve fund will be allocated to national roads with high traffic volumes
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has directed an additional 3 billion hryvnias from the state budget’s reserve fund for urgent routine repairs of state roads with high traffic intensity across Ukraine.
The adopted decision was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, emphasizing the priority of work on the most heavily trafficked highways.
In the state budget for 2026, 12.6 billion hryvnias have already been allocated for the repair and maintenance of public roads, of which 4.5 billion is designated for current works. The government has directed the additional 3 billion hryvnias specifically to urgent current repairs.
The Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine and the Recovery Agency have been instructed to significantly accelerate the pace of road works in order to promptly eliminate the most problematic sections of the network.
According to government estimates, restoring the pavement on international routes should be completed by May 1, and the main volume of works across the country — by June 1.
