An unknown device exploded near a recruitment center: a service member was wounded
The device was thrown in from the street
In the city of Mykolaiv in Lviv Oblast an explosion occurred near the building of the Stryi District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support. As a result of the incident a service member was wounded. This was reported on 17 September 2026 by the communications group of the Lviv Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support.
According to official information, the explosion occurred at about 4:30 p.m. near the entrance to the District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support building. According to a preliminary version, an unknown device was thrown at the building from the street by unidentified persons. Law enforcement officers are currently determining exactly what exploded. As a result of the explosion a service member of the 2nd department of the Stryi District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support was injured. The injured person was hospitalized to the Mykolaiv Central District Hospital. The Territorial Center reported that his condition is assessed as moderate.
Law enforcement officers and an investigative team are working at the scene. Initial investigative actions are underway; the identities of persons who may have been involved in the incident and all circumstances of the explosion are being established. The Lviv Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support urged citizens to remain calm and to use information only from official sources. As of the time of publication law enforcement had not reported any arrests or a final legal classification of the incident. According to “Radio Liberty”, the police had not yet provided a separate comment on the incident at that time.
