"He started to close the doors and drive off": in the Korabelnyi district they call for the bus driver to be investigated
Doors were shut in front of pensioners: in Mykolaiv they are calling for the bus driver to be removed
In the Korabelnyi district of Mykolaiv a passenger publicly complained about the driver of the municipal bus on route No. 1 with license plate ВЕ5674НС. According to her, on the evening of September 9, 2026 at the “Zavod Okean” stop the driver began closing the doors and pulling away at the moment when elderly people were still finishing boarding. Bus route No. 1 is operated by the municipal enterprise “Mykolaivpastrans.” It connects the “Okean” plant area with Ternivka, and from September 7, 2026 some trips were additionally extended to the Pivnichnyi microdistrict.
The post by user Nata Nata published in the Facebook group “Mykolaiv Minibuses. Public Transport.” She specified the exact bus, time and location of the incident – September 9 at 18:20, the “Zavod Okean” stop:
“I demand that an official investigation be carried out concerning the driver of bus ВЕ5674НС on route No. 1 and that the question of his removal from the route be considered. On September 9, 2026 at 18:20 at the “Zavod Okean” stop the driver obstructed the boarding of elderly people: he began closing the doors and driving away from the stop at the moment when passengers had almost completed boarding the bus. Such actions are dangerous, unprofessional and unacceptable for an employee of municipal transport. According to residents of the Korabelnyi district, complaints have been made about this driver more than once. I ask that appropriate measures be taken and an official response be provided based on the results of the appeal review,” – the user wrote.
The appeal sparked an active discussion. Some users supported the complaints against the driver, but others drew attention to another long-standing problem of Mykolaiv’s public transport — a shortage of buses and drivers.
User Kristina Dovbush suggested that removing the driver may further increase the intervals between buses.
“They remove the driver, there will be fewer buses, then people will write in the group — what is this, large gaps between transport, impossible to get there, etc….”
Tetyana Pishchanska-Asaulenko in response suggested that critics of the drivers’ work try working on the route themselves:
“We invite you to work for about 10 days.”
“I’ve seen the same on this route,” – said Marina Soloveva.
Lyudmyla Kurando attempted to explain another reason for the attitude toward passengers:
“When drivers receive a fixed salary, they will move slowly and will not care who boards. And when pay depends on the number of PAID passengers transported, this attitude will not change,” – the user wrote.
Complaints about the operation of route No. 1 for residents of the Korabelnyi district are not new. In July 2026 passengers complained about increased evening intervals, and the municipal enterprise “Mykolaivpastrans” explained this, among other things, by technical malfunctions of buses and the need for drivers to observe work and rest schedules. At that time the enterprise noted that it continues to recruit new drivers.
