Zelensky: Russia's losses — 1.6 million, of which 700,000 killed; Ukraine — 50,000 killed and 400,000 wounded
The estimates were given in an interview with Fox News; Zelensky also pointed to the large number of people missing and the difficulty of obtaining accurate counts
Today Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in an interview with the Fox News channel named the approximate losses of Russia and Ukraine over the years of the full-scale war, stressing that Russian figures far exceed Ukrainian ones.
According to the head of state, the answer was given in response to a journalist’s request to estimate the approximate losses of Russian forces over the past 4 years of fighting.
“Yes. Their losses — 1 million 600 thousand in total, of which about 700 thousand have been killed. Approximately,” — said Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with Fox News.
At the same time, he noted that it is currently difficult to provide exact data on Ukrainian losses.
“We have about 50 thousand killed military personnel, and about 400 thousand wounded,” — said Volodymyr Zelenskyy, adding that there is a large number of missing persons.
According to the president’s estimate, Russia’s killed losses are approximately 14 times higher than Ukraine’s.
He also emphasized that, despite large-scale battles, the ratio of losses indicates much higher irrecoverable losses of Russian units compared to the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
🤔 Meanwhile, back in 2022, during the heaviest fighting in the east, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine could lose between 50 and 100 servicemen per day, and later spoke of 60–100 killed and about 500 wounded daily.
