U.S. Senator Rubio: Ukraine's Armed Forces are the strongest in Europe; Russia loses five times as many fighters each month as Ukraine
At the same time, Rubio warns: the reconstruction of Ukraine could take up to 20 years because of the scale of the destruction
U.S. Secretary of State Mark Rubio, in an interview with Fox News, the transcript of which the U.S. State Department published the day before, said that during the full-scale war with Russia the Armed Forces of Ukraine have become the strongest in Europe.
“If you look at the fact that the Russians are losing five times more soldiers per month than the Ukrainians, and Ukraine is a smaller country and, in fact, has a smaller army — although, to be clear, right now the Ukrainian Armed Forces are the strongest and most powerful armed forces in all of Europe — obviously, thanks to the significant assistance they have received, as well as the combat experience they have gained,” said U.S. Secretary of State Mark Rubio in an interview with Fox News.
According to him, during the war both sides are suffering heavy human losses, and it will take Ukraine at least 20 years to recover.
Rubio also emphasized the imbalance in monthly losses, noting that the Russian army is losing 5 times more personnel than Ukraine despite the smaller size of the Ukrainian state and its forces; the combat capability of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has been affected by international aid and the skills gained in combat.
The State Department published the transcript of the conversation, confirming the main points of the interview and providing the full text of the discussion on its website.
