New boats for "Olimp": a project from the Korabelnyi district won in the youth budget

The project of the Children and Youth Sports School “Olimp” from the Korabelnyi district of Mykolaiv was among the 5 winners of the “Youth Public Budget-2026” contest. For the development of rowing in the indoor pool the sports school will receive 434.5 thousand hryvnias.

The initiative provides for the purchase of professional boats for year-round training, inclusive sports and veterans’ rehabilitation. In particular, the project specified 4 rowing boats, 2 canoes, 2 inclusive boats and a set of oars. Currently, the school’s students have only 2 usable boats available for training in the indoor pool.

As a result of the vote, the following will also receive funding:

• “Inclusive Smart Hub” based at Mykolaiv Gymnasium No.57 — 443.5 thousand hryvnias;
• “Development of rowing in the indoor pool of the Children and Youth Sports School “Olimp”: inclusion, rehabilitation and preparation of future champions of Mykolaiv region” — 434.5 thousand hryvnias;
• “Innovative youth space to create a barrier-free environment in Mykolaiv” — 393,279 hryvnias;
• “Family square: a space of strength, movement and recovery” — 431,650 hryvnias;
• “Student leadership space of the city of Mykolaiv” — 439,040 hryvnias.

The total cost of implementing the 5 projects is 2,141,969 hryvnias. A total of 8,747 residents of Mykolaiv took part in the vote. 20 initiatives were submitted to the contest, of which 15 were admitted to citywide online and offline voting.

The contest is being held in Mykolaiv for the second consecutive year with the support of the international organization Save the Children and the government of Denmark. In 2026 the program was also introduced in 10 communities of Mykolaiv region, whose representatives were separately recognized during the awards ceremony.
