Trainees of "Olimp" from Korabelnyi among the prize-winners: Mykolaiv rowers won 7 medals

Mykolaiv rowers won seven bronze medals in the final of the Ukrainian team kayak and canoe championship among youth sports schools (DYuSSh) and specialized youth sports schools of the Olympic reserve (SDYuSShOR). This was reported on 23 July 2026 by the Mykolaiv City Council.

The competition took place 15–19 July in Uman. Athletes from Mykolaiv sports schools represented the city with honor at the nationwide final. Graduates of the Specialized Youth Sports School of the Olympic Reserve for rowing added five bronze medals to the team’s tally:

• Artem Branishte — C-1, 3×200-meter relay, and C-2 at the 1000-meter distance;
• Stanislav Tsompel — C-1, 3×200-meter relay, and C-2 at the 1000-meter distance;
• Bohdan Cherednichenko — C-1, 3×200-meter relay.

The athletes were coached by Oleksandr Striuchkov and Halyna Zatuliviter.

Two more bronze medals were won by students of the sports school “Olimp”, located in the Korablevnyi district of Mykolaiv.

Andriy Basin and Denys Kyselov took third place in the K-2 kayak doubles race at the 500-meter distance. At the 1000-meter distance the crew from Korablevnyi finished fourth, and in the 3000-meter race they finished sixth. The athletes of KDYuSSh “Olimp” were prepared by coaches Liubov Denkovič, Serhiy Levchenko, Olha Tsompel, Maksym Dmytriiev and Oleksiy Petrosyants. In total, representatives of the two Mykolaiv sports schools brought home seven bronze medals from Uman.
