Another traffic accident involving a teenager on a two-wheeled vehicle: police are investigating the causes of the crash

In the city of Bashtanka the police are investigating a road traffic accident in which a minor motorcycle rider was injured. The crash occurred on May 23 2026 at about 10:05 on Yuvileina Street.

According to the police, the accident involved a vehicle GAZ 2705-434, driven by a 59-year-old driver, and a motorcycle Lifan SR220-4V, which was ridden by a 16-year-old youth. As a result of the collision the underage motorcycle rider sustained injuries. He was hospitalized with bodily injuries.

Investigators qualified the incident under the elements of a criminal offense provided for in Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of traffic safety rules or operation of transport by persons who drive vehicles. The article’s sanction provides for a penalty of up to three years’ restriction of liberty with disqualification from the right to drive vehicles for up to three years. At present the police are establishing all the circumstances and causes of the accident. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
