Figures in the "Midas" case, Mindych and Tsukerman, filed lawsuits against Zelensky, demanding that the sanctions be revoked
On May 14, the Cassation Administrative Court determined the composition of the panel; the NABU and SAP investigation lasted 15 months, over 70 searches and more than a thousand hours of audio recordings
The defendants in the high-profile “Midas” case, Timur Mindich and businessman Oleksandr Tsukerman, have filed lawsuits with the Cassation Administrative Court against President Volodymyr Zelensky, demanding that the presidential decree imposing sanctions against them be declared unlawful and that the introduced restrictions be lifted; the composition of the panel of judges to hear these disputes was set for May 14.
These proceedings are recorded in the register on the website of the Judiciary of Ukraine, where in both cases the defendant is listed as President Volodymyr Zelensky.
In their claims Mindich and Tsukerman insist on declaring the presidential decree that applied sanctions to them unlawful, and also ask the court to cancel the respective restrictions.
The appearance of these cases in the Cassation Administrative Court was reported by “Ukrainska Pravda” with reference to the court register data; details are available at the link in the outlet’s article: here.
Recall that earlier NABU and SAP, as part of operation “Midas”, published investigative materials, including photos of sports bags and parcels stuffed with currency seized during searches of those involved in the scheme in the energy sector.
Investigative actions in the “Midas” case lasted 15 months: more than 70 searches were conducted and over 1000 hours of audio recordings were collected.
The investigation covers the activities of officials in the energy and defense sectors, who are accused of participation in a criminal organization, money laundering and illicit enrichment.
