The former head of the Office of the President, and currently the head of the Committee on the Protection of Victims of Armed Aggression at the National Association of Advocates of Ukraine Andriy Yermak arrived in Mykolaiv for a meeting of the NAU Committee.

His appearance in the city drew attention also because of the political context: after his resignation as head of the Office of the President, NABU searches of his residence and a corruption scandal, Andriy Yermak stated to the American outlet The New York Post that he “is going to the front”. At the time, however, he did not specify when exactly, in what capacity, or to which unit he planned to join.

It is now known that in Mykolaiv he took part in a meeting of the Committee of the National Association of Advocates of Ukraine. About this Andriy Yermak reported on his Telegram channel.

According to him, the main topic of the meeting was the protection of the rights of servicemen, their families, as well as businesses that suffered from Russian aggression. They also summed up the results of the first month of the “Advocate+” project — free legal assistance from practicing lawyers for military personnel and their family members.

“At the center of attention is the protection of the rights of servicemen and their families, as well as businesses. We summed up the results of the first month of the ‘Advocate+’ project. This is free legal assistance from practicing lawyers for servicemen and their family members. As part of the pilot project, we assigned lawyers to three military units.

The result is effective: in the first month we processed more than 50 inquiries from servicemen and most cases have already been closed. Next — expansion of the project to 10 more brigades and the launch of a digital platform for easier access to legal assistance,” he wrote.

Also, Andriy Yermak reported that during the meeting they presented practical assistance with a clear algorithm of actions for families of the missing and prisoners of war. Separately, participants discussed the problems of small and medium-sized businesses that suffered losses due to Russian aggression.

According to Yermak, several concrete proposals were recorded following the meeting, in particular regarding the compensation procedure.

Recall that earlier after his resignation Andriy Yermak said that he “is going to the front”, but publicly did not detail whether this meant service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, volunteer work, legal assistance to the military, or another format of being near combat units.
