In Mykolaiv, the woman's current live-in partner wounded her ex with a knife

In Mykolaiv on Tuesday, April 28, during a domestic conflict a man intervened in an argument between his current partner and her ex and stabbed the opponent with a knife, regional police reported.

According to law enforcement, they received a report from medics about the hospitalization of a 42-year-old man with a stab wound to the torso.

Investigators established that on that day the victim’s former partner came to his place to collect her belongings.

A quarrel broke out between the former couple, during which the victim used physical force, after which the woman’s current partner intervened in the altercation and stabbed the ex.

The weapon was seized for forensic examination, and the 41-year-old suspect was detained under Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

The man was charged under part 1 of Art. 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for a penalty of imprisonment for up to 8 years.

The court will soon consider a motion to determine a preventive measure for the detainee; the pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
