Two employees were detained at the Mykolaiv TCC over a scam involving the Oberig registry
Officials are charged under Part 3 of Article 362 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — up to six years' imprisonment; investigators are identifying persons who used the scheme's services
In Mykolaiv Oblast, investigators from the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) detained two employees of a department of the Mykolaiv District Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TCC and SS) on suspicion of facilitating men’s evasion of mobilization.
The agency reported that earlier in the region they detained a man who for 8 thousand dollars promised to “solve the issue” of directing conscripts to rear units, support units and TCC and SS.
According to the investigation, the intermediary claimed he had the necessary connections and could arrange a fictitious assignment with the subsequent obtaining of three refusals from different military units.
This person was notified of suspicion under part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
During further investigative actions, the involvement in the scheme of the temporarily acting head of the 2 department of the Mykolaiv District TCC and SS and his subordinate was established.
“According to the investigation, they, in agreement with the organizer, made unauthorized changes to the state accounting system “Obereg” in the interests of “clients”, – the report says.”, — the SBI reported.
The detained TCC and SS employees were notified of suspicion under part 3 of Article 362 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the sanction of which provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 6 years.
The pre-trial investigation is currently ongoing; investigators are identifying persons who may have used such “services.”
