Ukrainians who are not registered for military service may be tracked down through mobile operators
One or two months may be granted to fulfill the duty
Restrictions may be introduced for Ukrainian citizens who have not registered for military service. Authorities plan to identify such people using state registers and information from mobile operators.
A possible procedure was outlined by Oleksandr Fedienko, a member of parliament from the Servant of the People party, during an appearance on the VPO Media program. He heads the Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Government Communications and Cryptographic Information Protection of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence.
The following sources may be used to identify people:
- Tax Service registers;
- Pension Fund registers;
- mobile operator data.
Once identified, citizens may be given one to two months to fulfill their military registration obligation.
