Blocked traffic and pushed a police officer: Ukrainian deported from Poland
The driver was also banned from entering the Schengen Area for five years
A 62-year-old citizen of Ukraine was deported from Poland following a confrontation with police officers. The incident occurred on Sunday, October 4, in Wólka Okopska, in the Lublin Voivodeship.
Police officers from the station in Dorohusk spotted a truck that its driver had parked illegally: it was blocking traffic and obstructing other road users. When officers arrived, the man refused to follow their instructions. During the confrontation, he shoved one of the officers.
The driver was detained and charged with violating a police officer’s bodily integrity. The officers also recorded a traffic violation.
The case was heard under an expedited procedure, and the court fined the man. Following the hearing, the police contacted the Border Guard in Dorohusk to request a decision on returning the Ukrainian citizen to his home country.
In addition to being deported, the man was banned from entering countries in the Schengen Area for five years. He has already left Poland.
