Dust, formaldehyde and carbon monoxide exceeded permissible limits in Mykolaiv

During the past week specialists from the State Institution “Mykolaiv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine” collected 95 atmospheric air samples at monitoring points in the residential area of Mykolaiv.

Laboratory tests detected exceedances of the maximum permissible concentrations of certain pollutants in 20 samples. In the Zavodskyi District the limit values were exceeded for dust (undifferentiated by composition), formaldehyde and carbon monoxide.

At the same time, concentrations of phenol, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide and ozone at all monitoring points did not exceed the established limits.

The Mykolaiv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention continues to monitor the quality of ambient air on the city’s major roads. The obtained results are used to assess environmental conditions and inform the relevant authorities.
