Young millionaires from Ukraine: over 610,000 Roblox accounts were sold to Russians
The suspects laundered almost 2.4 million hryvnias
Three residents of Drohobych will be tried on charges of stealing over 610 thousand accounts of the Roblox platform and selling them via Russian websites. The Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office announced the referral of the case to court.
The investigation considers the organizer of the scheme to be a 19-year-old man, and his accomplices — two 22-year-old city residents. According to the case materials, the group operated from May 2025 to April 2026 and gained access to other people’s profiles by stealing cookie files.
According to investigators, the accused searched for accounts that had money or rare in-game items. After that, the profiles were sold to Russians for cryptocurrency. The price of one account was about 70 rubles.
Overall, the scheme participants laundered almost 2.4 million hryvnias. They withdrew the obtained funds to their own bank cards.
In April, law enforcement stopped the group’s activities. During searches, investigators seized computers, mobile phones, bank cards and cash from the suspects. One of the participants was also found to have drugs.
All three defendants are currently in custody. They are charged with theft, money laundering, unauthorized interference with the operation of computer systems, and the sale of restricted-access information.
