51% of Ukrainian refugees in Poland plan to return home

The main requirement for most is safety and stability

Returning to Ukraine is planned by 51% of Ukrainian refugees who are in Poland. These are the results of a survey conducted by the “Rating” group during 21–25 August 2026.

After the end of the war 43% of respondents intend to come home, and a further 8% are ready to do so in the near future. 26% of those surveyed do not plan to return, while 23% are still undecided.

Security and stability in Ukraine were named the main condition for returning by 71% of survey participants. For 36%, economic development is important, and for 26% — the possibility of finding a job.

At the same time, 44% of Ukrainians would like to remain abroad permanently. Among them, 40% choose Poland, 17% — another country in Europe, and 6% — a country outside Europe.

Also, Poland is preparing for mobilization, and its citizens are receiving special cards.
