The government announced a comprehensive review of all shelters
Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky instructed the relevant ministries and regional military administrations, including the Kyiv City Military Administration, to act proactively to counter ballistic threats; all responsible parties have received instructions
Prime Minister Serhii Koretsky announced the start of an urgent nationwide inspection of civil defense shelters, during which the condition of the facilities’ maintenance and how easily citizens can access them will be assessed.
“The relevant ministries and services, together with regional military administrations, including the Kyiv City Military Administration and local self-government bodies in their areas of responsibility, will immediately inspect all civil defense shelters for their proper maintenance and unobstructed access for citizens. All – without exception. All responsible officials have received the appropriate instructions,” — said Serhii Koretsky.
According to the head of government, access to shelters must be ensured even before an official announcement of an air raid alert, if there is a confirmed threat. In conditions of constant risk of ballistic strikes, regional and city administrations must act faster and be guided by the real necessity of protecting people.
