People in white coats received a well-deserved "thank you": medical workers were awarded in the Mykolaiv region
130 medics received awards: those who save people during the war were honored
In the Mykolaiv Oblast, doctors and other healthcare workers were honored on the eve of Medical Worker’s Day. The ceremonial event took place on Friday, 24 July 2026. In total, 130 medical workers were nominated for awards for their conscientious work and contribution to preserving people’s health and lives.
The event was attended by the acting head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Heorhiy Reshetilov, and the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, Anton Tabunshchyk. Medical workers were also congratulated by representatives of the city authorities, health departments, trade unions and the medical community of the Mykolaiv region.
During his address, Heorhiy Reshetilov thanked the region’s medical workers who continue to save people, treat the wounded and the sick, and work amid the full-scale war.
“Medical workers perform extremely important work every day – they save lives, help people recover from wounds and illnesses and continue to work even in the most difficult conditions. I thank every medic in the Mykolaiv region for their professionalism, resilience and humanity. I wish you and your families health, strength and as many peaceful days as possible”, – said Heorhiy Reshetilov.
In total, 130 healthcare workers were nominated for awards. Honors were presented by the regional and city authorities, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, health departments, trade unions and other institutions.
Among the awards were the Honorary Distinction of the Head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration “Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker” III degree, honorary certificates and letters of appreciation, the mayor’s award “For Services to the City of Mykolaiv”, certificates and thank-you letters, other departmental and professional awards, as well as valuable gifts.
The regional authorities emphasized that for the Mykolaiv region, which continues to live and work under conditions of Russian aggression, the work of medical workers is of special importance: they provide assistance to people every day despite military risks and constant challenges.
