Saved people for over 50 years: Honored Doctor of Ukraine from Korablev District has passed away

In Mykolaiv, after a long illness the surgeon and Honored Doctor of Ukraine, Ihor Vasylovych Kalashnikov, has passed away.

The staff of Mykolaiv City Hospital No. 5, located in the Korabelnyi district, reported the loss on June 18, 2026.

For more than 50 years of his life, Ihor Vasylovych Kalashnikov devoted himself to the healthcare of Zhovtnevshchyna and to helping people. For decades he worked as a surgeon, saving patients’ lives and health, earning the respect of colleagues and the gratitude of many generations of residents.

At the hospital, Ihor Vasylovych Kalashnikov is remembered as a highly qualified specialist, a responsible physician, a compassionate colleague and a person with a big heart.

His professionalism, humanity and dedication to medicine were an example to colleagues and young specialists who worked alongside the experienced surgeon.

The medical staff expressed sincere condolences to the deceased’s family, relatives and friends, sharing their grief in this difficult hour.

The farewell ceremony will take place on June 19 at 12:00 on the grounds of Mykolaiv City Hospital No. 5, at the venue for farewell ceremonies.
