In the Mykolaiv region, a man was fined 850 hryvnias for beating his partner in front of the children

The incident was triggered by a dispute over money and access to a banking app; the actions were classified under Part 1 of Article 125 of the Criminal Code as intentional minor bodily injury

In Voznesensk the city-district court imposed a fine of 850 hryvnias for intentionally inflicting minor bodily injury on his partner; the incident occurred on 7 April 2026 in the village of Doroshivka during a family dispute.

As reported by the Voznesensk city-district court of Mykolaiv region, the defendant was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for inflicting minor bodily injuries during a domestic quarrel.

Materials of the proceedings indicate that that day a conflict erupted between the couple over money and access to a banking app, during which the man used force against the woman.

The court established that during the fight he struck his partner several times with his fist to the face, resulting in the victim sustaining a bruise in the eye and cheekbone area, which the examination classified as minor bodily injuries.

The victim emphasized that it all happened in the presence of the children, who were frightened by what occurred, and the underage daughter confirmed in court the fact that her mother was beaten.

The defendant admitted guilt only partially, explaining that he acted negligently and was provoked by his partner’s behavior.

When imposing the sentence, the court took into account that the man had no prior criminal record and has a Group II disability, while it considered as an aggravating circumstance that the offense was committed against a person with whom he was in a family relationship.

By the verdict, the man was fined 50 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens, which amounts to 850 hryvnias, under Part 1 of Article 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
