Around Odesa, multi-kilometer anti-tank ditches and dragon's teeth are being completed — the city is being prepared for all-around defense
Work is being carried out preemptively: they are building dugouts, stringing barbed wire and entanglements to foil any attempt at a landing
The Regional Directorate of the Territorial Defense Forces “South” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that work to establish a ring defense around Odesa is entering its final stage: anti-tank ditches, shelter positions and engineering obstacles are being constructed.
According to the military, the defensive perimeter is being formed from multi-kilometer anti-tank ditches and dugouts, supplemented with barbed wire, lines of “dragon’s teeth” and special entanglements to complicate the movement of enemy equipment and personnel.
“Such measures – not bravado but preemptive work, so that the enemy has no illusions: any attempt at a landing is doomed to failure,” the Regional Directorate of the Territorial Defense Forces “South” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.
The department explains that the network of barriers and fortifications is meant to ensure defense from all directions and prevent a breakthrough by armored vehicles or the landing of enemy units near Odesa.
