Tragedy in Korabelnyi: during an apartment fire, a man's body was found

In Mykolaiv the past day brought tragedy: during extinguishing a fire in an apartment rescuers discovered the body of a man. In total over the day in the Mykolaiv region there were 5 fires, to extinguish which dozens of firefighters and special equipment were deployed.

The most tragic incident was recorded in the Korabelnyi district of the city of Mykolaiv. As the State Emergency Service reported on April 10, 2026, during a fire of household items in a one-room apartment on the second floor of a five-story building rescuers conducted a search of the smoke-filled premises and found the body of a man born in 1982.

Firefighters extinguished another fire – a VAZ car – in the city of Mykolaiv over an area of 2 sq.m.

In addition, Mykolaiv rescuers extinguished a fire of the roof/ceiling of an outbuilding over an area of 5 sq.m. In this case they prevented the fire from spreading further and saved a tractor and a passenger car from destruction.

Two more cases of burning garbage were also recorded: in an unused building and in a basement on the territory of the Mykolaiv and Voznesensk districts. The total area of these fires amounted to 30 sq.m.

In total during the day 38 rescuers, 8 units of equipment and firefighters of the local fire protection in Shevchenkove were involved in extinguishing all the fires.

The circumstances of each of the fires are being investigated by specialists.
