Exoskeletons on the frontline of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: the 147th Separate Artillery Brigade of the Air Assault Forces has begun testing
The unit is the first in the Defense Forces to test equipment directly at combat positions to improve soldiers' mobility and endurance
The servicemen of the 147th Separate Artillery Brigade of the Air Assault Forces were the first in the Defense Forces of Ukraine to begin testing exoskeletons directly on combat positions; the start of the tests and the publication of a video from the Pokrovsk direction were reported on March 20 by the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The pilot exoskeletons have already been handed over to the corps’ units and are being used both in logistical operations and on forward positions.
According to technical specifications, the system reduces physical load by up to 30%, supports movement at speeds of up to 20 km/h and has a range of about 17 km.
The daily work of the artillerymen involves carrying 15–30 shells weighing approximately 50 kg each. During tests using exoskeletons, the servicemen noted less fatigue, higher task execution speed and longer retention of combat capability.
Preliminary test results were reported by the head of the Missile Forces and Artillery Directorate, deputy commander of the 7th Air Assault Corps, Colonel Vitaliy Serdyuk.
“As a result of the tests, the fighters get less tired, work faster and retain combat effectiveness for longer”,
