In Mykolaiv Oblast, since the beginning of 2026, 68 new cases of HIV infection have been recorded, among them — 9 children. The data were published by the Mykolaiv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
According to the institution, cases have been registered among persons of both sexes and include cases detected during the current observation period.
Among the new patients — 39 men, 29 women. This statistic also includes 9 children.
The main route of infection was sexual — 52 cases confirmed; another 7 people were infected parenterally, i.e., through contact with blood.
All 9 children were infected vertically — from mother to child.
