Mykolaiv region is preparing barriers to open the sea, - Vitalii Kim
The regional governor said in a video address that protective barriers may be installed to provide safe access to the coast
On Friday, March 13, the head of the regional administration of the Mykolaiv region held a meeting with Danish partners, where they discussed restoring tourism in the region and possible financing of protective barrier structures for the further reopening of the sea.
The head of the region reported the results of the talks in his video address, emphasizing plans to revive the tourism sector.
The official specifically stressed that among the key tasks is the reconstruction of tourist infrastructure, so visitors can return as soon as possible after the reopening of the seaside.
Conveying the details of the vision, he reminded that the sea is currently closed, but technical solutions that could accelerate the restoration of tourist activity are being considered. According to him, this involves potential financing of special protective structures.
“The second is tourism. The restoration of tourism, even though our sea is currently closed. But the possibility of financing barrier structures that will be installed when the sea is restored and opened is being considered, to restore tourist activity as quickly as possible.”
At the same time, he did not specify any technical parameters or timelines and did not name a date when the sea is planned to be opened for recreation.
