Yandex’s data center in Russia has completely shut down following a drone attack
The infrastructure is damaged, and some services may be unavailable to users
A drone attack in the morning of October 8 completely shut down Yandex’s data center in the city of Sasovo, Ryazan Region, Russia. The company’s press service announced that the facility had ceased operations, Interfax reports. According to interfax.ru.
The number of online reports of disruptions to the company’s services is growing. Some of its services may currently be unavailable to users.
The press service also reported damage to part of the infrastructure. No one was injured. Specialists are working to address the consequences of the incident and restore the services.
On October 4 and overnight into October 5, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the following targets:
- launch and storage sites for attack drones;
- a command post;
- a Russian forces’ UAV depot.
These facilities were hit near Donetsk and Berdiansk, among other locations.
