QR payments on Mykolaiv trams and trolleybuses increased by a quarter
Passengers made more than 2.4 million payments in nine months
During January–September 2026, passengers on Mykolaiv’s municipal electric transport made 2,418,000 payments using QR codes. Compared with the same period of the previous year, the number increased by 25%. The results were published by Mykolaivelektrotrans Municipal Enterprise.
For comparison, 1,933,000 payments were made using QR codes during January–September 2025. The enterprise notes that this payment method has already become a familiar part of travel for many passengers.
Paying for your ride by phone comes with the following conditions:
- the fare is UAH 12;
- cards from any bank can be used for payment;
- after paying, you can transfer from a tram to a trolleybus or vice versa within 90 minutes without paying the fare again.
QR code stickers are displayed inside all trams and trolleybuses in Mykolaiv. The enterprise describes paying by phone as quick and convenient for passengers. For drivers, its advantage is that handling payments does not distract them while driving their route.
