A drone struck the Northern Bridge in Kyiv again while cars were driving on it
A strike the previous day damaged the road and the trolleybus network at the crossing
In the morning of October 4 Russian forces again attacked the Northern Bridge in Kyiv. A drone struck the roadway. The video of the strike shows cars that were crossing the bridge at the time.
Kyiv’s mayor Vitali Klitschko described the situation as:
“A hit on the roadway of the Northern Bridge. Emergency services are en route to the scene.”
There is no other information about this attack and its consequences at this time.
Russian forces struck this crossing the day before, on October 3. At that time the roadway and the trolleybus contact network were damaged. Because of the attack, traffic across the bridge from the left bank to the right bank was temporarily closed.
Starting next week, in Kyiv they plan to begin construction of several backup crossings across the Dnipro. They are intended to maintain transport links between the banks if the existing bridges are damaged.
