The road to Crimea is turning into a trap: Ukrainian strikes are hitting Russia’s logistics

Chonhar is under attack again

Successful actions by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to establish fire control over key routes in the south can significantly change the nature of the fighting.

This is reported by the analytical project DeepState on 10 June 2026. Earlier, the occupying authorities claimed damage to a bridge in the Chonhar area and the closure of traffic via Dzhankoy, with transport redirected via Armyansk and Perekop.

According to analysts, Ukrainian forces carried out two precise strikes on the road bridge in the Chonhar area on the new R-280 route, which connects Rostov-on-Don with occupied Simferopol.

DeepState analysts emphasize that the damage to the bridge near Chonhar is part of pressure on the occupiers’ logistics.

“Putting the bridge out of action, which limited movement in this area, is an important component of the blockade and triggers a chain reaction”.

The main route through Chonhar, according to DeepState, is under fire control. At the same time, alternative routes — the Arabat Spit, the Perekop Isthmus and the Kerch Strait — also remain vulnerable.

Bridges on these approaches are damaged, roads are overloaded, and the logistical reach for Russian forces increases by tens of kilometers. As a result, such routes can become traps for the enemy.

Analysts also draw attention to the Taganrog–Mariupol–Volnovakha route, which Ukrainian defenders have likewise brought under fire control. Fighters of “Azov” are actively operating in this direction.

DeepState believes that further expansion of such pressure could affect the fighting in the south.

“The expansion of such a blockade could lead to significant changes in the fighting in the south. The Defense Forces have shown the capability to control everything that moves through the southern part of the occupied territory”.

Thus, strikes on the enemy’s logistics — not just isolated attacks on bridges or roads — are a systematic attempt to restrict the movement of equipment, ammunition and personnel of Russian forces in the southern direction.
