A drone strike halted oil refining at the Yaroslavsky Oil Refinery

A Russian oil refinery “Yaroslavnefteorgsintez” has suspended oil processing after an attack by Ukrainian drones. The facility is located approximately 250 kilometers northeast of Moscow.

According to Reuters, equipment at the refinery was damaged as a result of the strike. In particular, the primary processing unit AVT-3, which provides about 40% of the plant’s capacity, has been taken out of service.

Another unit — AVT-4 — is under repair due to damage it sustained during a previous attack on August 28.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the strike on the Yaroslavl refinery on the night of September 17.
