Rain pushes trash into drains: Mykolaiv steps up drainage cleaning

In Mykolaiv, due to unstable weather and precipitation, cleaning of the drainage system has been intensified. The maximum number of mobile crews from the municipal enterprise Municipal Enterprise “ELU of Highways” were deployed so that the network can cope with the rapid flow of water and flooding does not occur on the roadway.

During rain, water washes garbage and other debris off the streets. They can get into the drainage network, clog it, and interfere with normal water discharge. Therefore, company workers directly on the streets check storm drain grates, clean manholes of debris, and monitor key sections of the city sewerage.

In the first half of the day crews worked in the Central District at the following locations:

• Admiralska Street
• Central Avenue — from Sadova Street to 3rd Slobidska Street, as well as the “Dormashyny” area
• Velyka Morska Street
• Arkasivska Street
• Spaska Street
• Heroiv Ryatuvalnykiv Street
• Inzhenerna Street
• Naberezhna Street
• Heroes of Ukraine Avenue
• Oleh Hryhoriev Street

In the Zavodskyi District municipal workers controlled and cleaned drainage at the following locations:

• General Oleksa Almazov Street
• Yevheniya Loginova Street
• Kurortna Street
• Dachna Street
• Lazurna Street
• Ozerna Street
• Bila Street
• Industrialna Street
• Sportyvna Street
• Buznyka Street
• 5th Parnykovyi Lane

In the Inhulskyi District crews worked at the following addresses and locations:

• Myru Avenue
• Kosmonavtiv Street
• Dmytro Kremen Street
• Kyivska Street
• Troitska Street
• Zaliznychna Street
• Nahirna Street
• Kytoboiiv Street
• Novozavodska Street
• the “Dubky” area

In the Korablev District of Mykolaiv company workers monitored Bohoyavlenskyi Avenue.

At Municipal Enterprise “ELU of Highways” they noted:

Coordinated work of the crews allows the city drainage system to operate in normal mode, and the roads to remain comfortable for motorists and pedestrians. Monitoring of the sections continues throughout the day.
