Mykolaiv's track and field athletes won three individual medals and a team bronze

Athletes from the Mykolaiv Municipal Specialized Children and Youth Sports School of the Olympic Reserve (MSDYUSSHOR) in athletics successfully competed in two nationwide tournaments. The athletes won individual awards in the three-event competition, and the Mykolaiv Oblast team claimed a team medal in the relay race.

21–22 August in Kropyvnytskyi the IV stage of the nationwide athletics competition “Festival of Athletic Triathlon” took place. Boys and girls participated in the tournament. The young Mykolaiv athletes demonstrated excellent preparation and perseverance and won three awards:

• Olesya Kshebit — 1st place;
• Anna Obukhova — 1st place;
• Oleksandr Yakubovskyi — 3rd place.

The athletes were prepared with the involvement of coaches Kateryna Nikitina, Maryna Chumachenko, Alla Kovpak and Ivan Hrynyk.

Another nationwide start took place on 19 August in Zhytomyr. At the Ukrainian Team Championship in relay running, Mykolaiv track and field athletes showed speed, skill and team unity. As a result of the competition the Mykolaiv Oblast team took an honorable 3rd place among all regions of Ukraine.

The team included Vitaliy Karpenko, Anastasiia Alemaskina, Mariya Fedorenko, Renat Herasymov, Andriy Khodovskyi, Kseniia Lutsenko, Oleksandr Lelytsia, Yehor Kochetov, Denys Muliar and Yurii Hrypich.

The athletes for the team championship were prepared by Maryna Chumachenko, Alla Kovpak, Viktoriia Kilyarska and Iryna Shapovalova.

The city council congratulated the athletes and their coaches on the results at the nationwide competitions.
