In Pervomaisk two boys aged 11 and 12 years released the contents of a fire extinguisher through the open window of someone else’s apartment. The children filmed their “fun” on a phone and posted the video on a social network to increase its reach. The incident was reported by the Pervomaisk District Police Department.

The event occurred on August 23, 2026 around 2:00 PM in one of the city’s residential neighborhoods. A 37-year-old local resident contacted the police. The man said he was at home when unknown children aimed the spray from a fire extinguisher at the open window of his first-floor apartment. After that they ran away. Juvenile police officers and a squad from the Pervomaisk district police were involved in the search. Law enforcement established that three minors were near the building, but two local boys were directly involved in the offense.

As police discovered, one of them took the fire extinguisher from his mother’s car without permission. Together with a friend he decided to test it by directing the spray into the apartment window. The boys recorded their actions on a mobile phone and published them on social media. Nearby was another 12-year-old boy from another region who was visiting Pervomaisk. According to the police, the local children suggested he film the “new trend,” but did not tell him the real plan.

“Even seemingly innocent pastimes can have legal consequences,” – the law enforcement officers emphasized.

Juvenile prevention inspectors held preventive talks with all participants in the event. Administrative proceedings were drawn up against the parents of the 11- and 12-year-old offenders under Part 1 of Article 184 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses (KUpAP) — failure to properly fulfill duties related to raising children. The protocols will soon be forwarded to the Pervomaisk City District Court, which will make the final decision.
