Salary rose to 28.5 thousand, while debts — almost 120 million: statistics for Mykolaiv region
Workers in the energy sector earn the most
In June 2026 the average nominal wage of regular employees of enterprises, institutions and organizations of the Mykolaiv region amounted to 28,507 hryvnias. By this indicator the region took 10th place among the oblasts of Ukraine.
This was reported by the Main Department of Statistics in Mykolaiv region.
Compared to May 2026 the average salary in Mykolaiv region increased by 6.3%, and year‑on‑year by 22.5%. At the same time it remains 13% lower than the national average for Ukraine, which amounted to 32,783 hryvnias.
The highest average salary in the region was paid to employees of enterprises engaged in the supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning. In June 2026 it amounted to 53,197 hryvnias.
The lowest level of pay was recorded in the field of arts, sports, entertainment and recreation – 14,163 hryvnias. Thus, the difference between the highest and lowest average salaries reached 39,034 hryvnias. Employees in the highest‑paid sector received on average 3.8 times more.
At the same time, the situation with timely payments remains tense. As of July 1, 2026 wage arrears in the Mykolaiv region reached 119.9 million hryvnias. Compared to June 1, 2026 the amount of debt increased by 35.3%, or approximately by 31.3 million hryvnias.
Debts of Mykolaiv enterprises amounted to 3.1% of the total wage arrears in Ukraine.
The largest share of debts was accumulated by manufacturing enterprises – 72.7%. A further 5.4% fell on water supply, sewerage and waste management enterprises. Thus, industrial enterprises in total formed 78.1% of all arrears.
Enterprises in agriculture, forestry and fishing accumulated 21.1% of the debt. All other types of economic activity accounted for only 0.8%.
According to the provided information, 71.6% of the total amount of unpaid wages was concentrated in the Mykolaiv district.
Due to employers’ untimely settlements, about 4.2 thousand employees did not receive their wages in full or in part. On average, each of them was owed about 28.8 thousand hryvnias.
The statistics office noted that the data are provided without taking into account territories temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation and parts of territories where hostilities are taking place or have taken place.
