Kim, after being appointed minister, does not want to relinquish his mandate as a deputy of the Mykolaiv City Council
He explained the decision as intended to discipline the city council's work and to stay focused on Mykolaiv's problems
The former head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Kim, said that he will remain a member of the Mykolaiv City Council; he announced this at a press conference on Saturday, July 18.
He explained that he will continue to take part in the city’s political life in order to stay informed about local problems and to be able to influence the organization of the city council’s work.
“I speak for myself personally—to remain a city council deputy, to be in the context of Mykolaiv’s problems, to help and frankly to influence the disciplining of the Mykolaiv City Council’s work. That is my motivation,” Vitaliy Kim said.
The official recalled that he was recently appointed Minister for Veterans Affairs; at the same time, he confirmed his intention to retain his mandate as a member of the Mykolaiv City Council.
Earlier Kim expressed hope that Reshetylov would head the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration without the “acting” prefix, stressing the need for certainty in the region’s leadership.
