On the night of 21 June 2026, Ukrainian long-range strike assets hit a number of objects that Russian occupiers used for military and fuel logistics on both sides of the Crimean Bridge. Fires broke out after the strike, the Kerch ferry service stopped, part of temporarily occupied Crimea was left without power, and fuel sales to civilians and businesses were suspended.

The results of the operation were reported by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. According to him, the strikes involved fighters from the Security Service of Ukraine, the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Main Intelligence Directorate, and the Special Operations Forces.

Ukrainian units struck targets at a distance of about 300 kilometers from the front line. Facilities in the oil sector, military logistics, and Russian air defense were hit.

One of the targets was maritime infrastructure for transporting oil in the Krasnodar region. The Russian operational headquarters acknowledged that a fire broke out at an oil terminal in the settlement of Chushka, located near the port “Kavkaz” on the Russian shore of the Kerch Strait, after a drone strike.

At the same time, an oil depot in temporarily occupied Kerch was struck. In the morning, footage of a large blaze and thick smoke over the port infrastructure circulated online. During the attack, the ferry “Panagia”, which operated on the Kerch route, was also damaged. The Russian side reported one dead and one wounded on the territory of Krasnodar Krai. It is currently impossible to independently verify these claims.

From 21 June ferry traffic across the Kerch Strait was completely stopped. The Russian operational headquarters suggested that truck drivers use a land route via Rostov-on-Don, Taganrog, the occupied cities of Mariupol, Melitopol and Simferopol.

Passage of large freight vehicles over the Crimean Bridge is restricted, so the suspension of the ferries created additional problems for supplying goods to the occupied peninsula. The Crimean Bridge itself was also closed for roughly 9 hours during the night, after which car traffic resumed.

Russia’s air defense suffered significant losses. According to the Ukrainian side, 4 radar stations belonging to S-400 systems were hit, as well as 2 Pantsir anti-aircraft missile and gun systems.

At the same time, part of the peninsula remained without power. The occupiers-controlled company “Krymenergo” reported damage to power networks and partial disconnection of consumers in the Northwestern, Central and South Coast energy districts.

Reports of outages came from Sevastopol, Alushta, Armiansk, Krasnoperekopsk, Simferopol and settlements in the Dzhankoy district. Temporary schedules for power supply restrictions were introduced in some areas.

Occupation structures explained the outages by network damage but did not disclose precise locations of the hits or the scale of the destruction. They announced emergency restoration work at the damaged sites.

The Russia-appointed head of the occupation administration, Sergey Aksyonov, also said that allegedly 4 people died and another 28 were injured in the Kerch area. The Ukrainian side did not comment on these reports, and there is no independent confirmation of the figures provided by the occupiers.

Thus, in a single night several key elements of the Russian system for supplying the occupied peninsula were hit at once: oil infrastructure, maritime transport, the ferry, military logistics and air defense systems. Against the background of a preexisting fuel shortage, the consequences of the strikes were quickly felt by residents of the occupied Crimea.
