1 June the project “Say the Truth” from Ukrainska Pravda will visit Mykolaiv. This was 31 May 2026 announced on the outlet’s Facebook page.

As part of the project anyone who wishes can speak on any topic for one minute. It can be a story about what hurts, personal experiences, a story about one’s city, or any thought a person wants to say out loud. More about the project here.

In Mykolaiv those who want to take part will be awaited on Monday, 1 June, on Soborna Street. Organizers said the project team can be found either on Soborna Square or near the monument to Saint Nicholas. The format of the project is simple: a person approaches the open microphone and has one minute to tell their truth. No long speeches, no official addresses, and no usual for public events “pre-agreed talking points”.

For Mykolaiv, which lives in a frontline reality, such a conversation can become not just a media action but an opportunity to hear the voices of people who sustain the city every day, work, raise children, volunteer, endure losses, return home or, conversely, still do not dare to do so.

The project “Say the Truth” gives city residents a chance to speak not in the language of reports and press releases, but in their own words: about pain, hope, anger, fatigue, love for the city and what in peacetime might have remained unsaid.
