Had mental health issues: the person who committed suicide by jumping from the roof of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration was a 19-year-old man

In Mykolaiv, the police identified the young man who died 27 April 2026 in the center of Mykolaiv (reminder, we wrote: in Mykolaiv a young man died after falling from the roof of the destroyed Regional Military Administration building).

As previously reported, at about 12:50 yesterday an emergency call to 102 reported that a young person had jumped from the roof of an administrative building on Admiralska Street. At the scene, officers from Police Station No. 1 of the Mykolaiv District Department, forensic specialists of the regional police headquarters, and a forensic medical examiner were working.

During initial investigative actions, law enforcement established that a 19-year-old Mykolaiv resident died from the injuries sustained. The police also reported that the young man had mental health issues. Authorities are currently clarifying all circumstances and reasons that could have prompted him to the fatal act.

The incident was classified under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Intentional murder” with the note “suicide” – this procedure is applied in similar cases.
