For recovery work after attacks — 30,000 each: the government has introduced additional payments for emergency response crews
Assistance will be paid for each month of participation in restoration work
Employees of emergency repair crews will receive additional payments for restoring critical energy facilities, housing and utility infrastructure, and railways after Russian attacks. The Government adopted the relevant decision yesterday, on Wednesday, November 4.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhii Koretskyi explained in a post on Telegram @Koretskyi_official that the payments were introduced on the President’s instructions.
The assistance is available to the following workers:
- energy workers;
- heating utility workers;
- gas utility workers;
- employees of water supply and wastewater companies;
- municipal service workers;
- railway workers.
“…will receive 30,000 hryvnias in state assistance for each month spent on restoration work, starting in November and continuing until the end of the heating season,” Serhii Koretskyi said.
According to the head of government, Russian forces direct 300–400 drones at critical infrastructure every day, in addition to launching missile strikes.
“Since August, more than 2,000 strikes have been recorded. Power lines and exposed network infrastructure are being destroyed, significantly worsening the situation. They have to be restored again and again, on a scale many times greater than in all previous years,” Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi explained.
In February 2026, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a separate awards program for energy workers: each year, up to 50 awards of 200,000 hryvnias each will be granted to industry employees.
Also, on February 23, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated 246.4 million hryvnias to support emergency repair crew workers. The funding is for those who restored energy infrastructure in January 2025 following Russian strikes.
