Two people have died from AIDS-related illnesses in Mykolaiv Oblast
In September, 19 new cases of HIV were registered in the region
In September 2026, two people in the Mykolaiv region died from AIDS-related illnesses. During the month, 19 new cases of HIV infection were registered, and seven people were diagnosed with AIDS for the first time.
Sexual transmission was the most common route among the new HIV cases. The breakdown was as follows:
- 18 cases — sexual transmission;
- 1 case — parenteral transmission.
These figures highlight the importance of HIV prevention for residents of the region. It concerns everyday life, relationships, and taking responsibility for one’s own health.
From January to March 2026, 9 babies with HIV infection were born in the Mykolaiv region.
