A Vocal Teacher Sexually Abused Children for Years: Court Sentenced Him to Life in Prison

As reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General on October 7, 2026, juvenile prosecutors from the Poltava Regional Prosecutor’s Office proved in court that a vocal coach had systematically committed sexual crimes against young children during private lessons. The man had a background in teaching and psychology and worked as a tutor in Poltava. He held lessons both at his home and in rented premises.

According to the facts established by the court, beginning in 2014, he systematically sexually abused children during lessons. He also forced them to create intimate materials and kept them. In addition, the man persuaded the children to conceal what was happening from their parents. Three young children were harmed by his actions.

Law enforcement officers exposed the tutor in the autumn of 2024, after parents in one family noticed changes in their child’s psychological state. As part of the criminal proceedings, investigators and prosecutors gathered evidence and conducted more than 50 expert examinations. In the spring of 2025, the indictment was sent to the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Poltava.

The court found the man guilty of committing a series of especially grave crimes, including rape and sexual violence against persons under the age of 14, corrupting young children, coercing minors to participate in the production of pornographic materials, and producing and possessing child pornography. The court imposed life imprisonment as the primary sentence.

In addition, the man was banned for 3 years from holding positions or engaging in activities related to the education and upbringing of children, as well as activities involving access to information resources and the distribution of material online.

In court, the accused pleaded guilty. He is currently in custody.
