A female blogger is accused of insulting the Armed Forces of Ukraine over a video showing her middle finger

Blogger Dasha Moss, who teaches voice training, has found herself at the center of a social media scandal. It was sparked by a video showing a woman riding a motorcycle and apparently giving the middle finger to a man in military uniform. He has his back turned to her.

The discussion took off after a post by serviceman Max Yuriev. He shared screenshots that apparently came from the blogger’s video and suggested that the man in uniform might have been a Territorial Recruitment Center (TCC) employee.

Yuriev wrote:

“Remember this blogger, Dasha Moss, who teaches voice training and supposedly Ukrainian expressions? Now she’s decided to chase clout by insulting and discrediting the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”

The screenshots shared with the post showed the following caption:

“Rude… she could have thanked him for not shoving her into a van.”

The post sparked a heated debate, but users did not reach a consensus:

• Some commenters criticized the blogger, considering her actions insulting to service members.
• Others focused on criticizing mobilization methods and the work of the TCC.
• Some users recalled Dasha Moss’s previous activities and her support for Ukrainian service members.

The controversial post was later deleted. At the time this article was published, no official response from law enforcement regarding the incident had been reported.

The possible legal assessment of such actions depends on the specific circumstances and the content of the post. In theory, cases like this may fall under various provisions of the law.

In particular, Article 435-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for liability for insulting the honor and dignity of a service member, threatening them, or producing or distributing materials containing such content.

However, only a competent authority, following the procedure established by law, can determine whether the blogger’s actions constitute a criminal or administrative offense.
