President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on the evening of Wednesday, September 16, announced the preparation of legislative changes that envisage the return of asset declarations for law enforcement officers and members of the security services who are not involved in combat operations.

According to the head of state, the scope of the declarations should ensure effective oversight of the property status and lifestyle of employees of law enforcement agencies.

Volodymyr Zelensky also spoke about a conversation with the Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Koretskyi. In central executive bodies they plan to vet all leaders — both those already appointed and those serving in an acting capacity.

Special attention will be paid to institutions where the president sees high corruption risks:

  • the leadership of the State Tax Service;
  • the leadership of ARMA;
  • heads of various state inspections.

Separately, the president urged that the renewal of state-owned enterprises begin as soon as possible. Among them he named “Forests of Ukraine” and “Energoatom”. In this work they plan to use the experience of “Ukrnafta” and “Naftogaz”.

Volodymyr Zelensky stressed:

“There must be a renewal of all key state companies. Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will develop and present the details of implementing these decisions.”
